I am glad my child is attending the school. ithas helped him/her out so much. It has put him/her on the right track for his/her tech shop and hopefully he/she will be able to go to a decent college. My one problem I had was when he/she first started in ninth grade he/she was put in a math class which he/she excelled in and new everything from 8th grade from his home school. They should have more tracks (levels of abilities) in math. Also, they should have some kind of excurricular music program.
My daughter graduated in 2008. She was Salutatorian (2nd inher class). She&039;s currently a freshman at Temple University(Dean&039;s List). Don&039;t believe the stories about not being able to get into colleges. She had her pick of many including Penn State (main campus). My son is currently a student at BCTHS and he too is following in her footsteps (2nd in his class). SAT scores are more important then the name of the school.

I am a student in the Green Energy Technologies Program.We just won the State of PA Gold Medal in Electronics Technology. We have over 19 students that earned National Certifications from the ETA in Electronics. The program rewards up to 15 College credits. This School and program are the best kept secret in PA Schools that work.

My daughter graduated from here and went on to college,where she excelled. My biggest problem with the school is the of students who are major discipline problems. They hurt the educational quality. The shops are great; the academics are more than adequate. The &039;6 days in shop/6 days in academics&039; is hard to take.

BCTHS is a good school. The 6 days of academics6 days of shop is hard for students to keep up with their work. I think that half the year should be academics and the other half technical. It would be much easier for students. Some teachers are too relaxed and others are much too strict. One rule is that students must wear boots to their technical area. Some students need that but others like creative arts students don&039;t need boots. Photography students don&039;t need to wear uniforms because none of them work with chemicals but the school is trying to insist that they buy uniform T-Shirts. Over all they school is a good one but sometimes it isn&039;t.
